Anjuman-i-Islam’s Akbar Peerbhoy College of Education, Vashi arranged a workshop on ‘Sexual harassment of women employees’ on 27th February at 2 p.m. in the Lecture hall. Two Police Sub Inspectors namely Ms. Archana Chivate and Ms. Jyoti Suryawanshi were invited for the session. Both of them spoke on the various Sections passed by the law for Women for eg. Section 354(If someone sends vulgar images and messages etc. to a girl then she can lodge the complaint)

They also made awareness about the Pratisaad App which sends immediate location of the victim. They said one must set the limitations of using Facebook and Whats App and be an alert parent too check out what type of websites your child is visiting. They said Police is ready to help women to fight against exploitation but in most of the cases victim herself doesn’t want to cooperate because of society’s binding. They insisted on making good use of technology. It was a fruitful session our students learnt a lot it was an interactive and informative experience. All the faculty members and F.Y. B. Ed as well as S.Y B. Ed students were present. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Principal Dr. Asma Shaikh.
