FESTIVAL OF MILLET

Akbar Peerbhoy College of Education organised FESTIVAL OF MILLET , as the part of  international year of millet.The Government of India designated some millets as Nutri-Cereals in April 2018 to promote their production and consumption. These include Sorghum (Jowar), Pearl Millet (Bajra), Finger Millet (Ragi/Mandua), and Minor Millets, which are Foxtail Millet (Kangani/Kakun), Proso Millet (Cheena), Kodo Millet (Kodo), Barnyard Millet (Sawa/Sanwa/ Jhangora), Little Millet (Kutki), and two Pseudo-millets, Buckwheat (Kuttu) and Amaranthus (Chaulai). The Indian government has recommended to the United Nations that 2023 be designated as the International Year of Millets (IYoM-2023) in order to supply nourishing food to the populace and generate demand both domestically and internationally. students prepared dishes of millet and presented the importance and nutritional value of each millet .
